Mr. Balaji is the current Vice President of the Sports Medicine Association Singapore (SMAS) and has served as the Head Physiotherapist for the Singapore 15s Rugby Team and National Rugby Academy for the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU). He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with Honours in BSc Physiotherapy. His years of experience have allowed him to attend to various clients, ranging from patients with chronic disease, geriatrics, neurological impairments, musculoskeletal, all while specializing in sports physiotherapy.

Mr. Balaji is also a keen educator through running pitchside medical courses for World Rugby and being a Dry Needling Instructor for Global Education for Manual Therapist (GEMt).

Whichever the health need, his strong belief in holistic biomechanical correction and incorporation of evidence-based strength and conditioning effectively returns his clients to improved levels of physical activity. Being functionally conversant in many languages including the Chinese dialects has allowed him to build a good rapport with all his clients; his work in providing A-class care has been acknowledged with numerous Service Quality awards.

Outside of work, Balaji keeps active by playing in the National Hockey League for his Alumni Club and weight lifting.

Gareth graduated from Trinity College of Dublin (Honors) programme and started his career in NTFGH. Working at an acute hospital, he has a vast working experience, from Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy to the Intensive Care Unit. He believes in hands-on treatments such as movement with mobilisation, myofascial release techniques, and spinal mobilisation techniques. It is equally important to him that his clients understand their condition better and have control over their recovery.

As an athlete who used to represent his school in badminton and sprints, his childhood dream is to provide physiotherapy to young athletes, helping to preserve and optimise their physical and mental well-being throughout their sporting career.

After graduating with a first-class (Hons) degree in physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University, Kieron worked for the National Health Service before moving to Singapore in 2014. Kieron has since worked in public and private practice settings gaining experience treating a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal disorders. Kieron is co-chair of the Singapore Physiotherapy Associations (SPA) Musculoskeletal special interest group, Executive Committee of the SPA as well as a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in the UK and a regular content contributor for anatomy-physiotherapy.com.

Kieron holds an MSc in Musculoskeletal Sciences from University College London and is currently involved in international research efforts to improve sporting and functional outcomes following rotator cuff injury and surgery. His professional interests are musculoskeletal physiotherapy with a focus on tendon and muscular recovery post-injury, application of transitional research to clinical practice, and objective clinical testing and outcome measures. Having attended several training courses conducted by world leaders in physiotherapy and musculoskeletal medicine, he takes a holistic approach to help his patients return to their chosen activities as soon as possible.

Outside of work, Kieron is always trying to keep fit by running and working out at the gym. He also enjoys music, reading, history, and trying to learn Bahasa Melayu and Indonesia.

After graduating from Trinity College Dublin (Honors) programme, Timothy started his career in NTFGH where he had broad exposure to the many different disciplines within the acute setting. This experience taught him to work comfortably with patients of all age groups. A strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy saw Timothy move on to the polyclinics where he treated mainly outpatient musculoskeletal issues. Timothy believes in a holistic physiotherapy programme consisting of various hands-on approach as well as an evidence-based rehabilitation programme to help patients achieve their goals. His dedication and hard work have also earned him the 2018 Star Allied Health Professional Award in the Polyclinics.

Outside of work, Timothy enjoys gymming, soccer and playing music.

Pei Xuan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2012 and pursued her Masters of Physiotherapy from National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan. Pei Xuan has since worked in public and private practice settings in both Taipei and Singapore, gaining invaluable experience working with clients of many different clinical conditions across age groups. As a physiotherapist, Pei Xuan is a strong advocate of attaining proper health management for oneself and believes in guiding her clients towards an improvement in quality of life. Her strive for excellence motivates her towards a journey of continuous education to ensure that all her clients are treated with an up-to-date evidence-based approach.

Outside of work, Pei Xuan enjoys music, swimming, hiking as well as yoga and pilates classes.

Zhen Fang is a certified Sports Trainer with both a Diploma in Sports Massage and a Diploma in Education (NIE). Having always been an active individual, she found her calling as a Sports Massage therapist; whilst developing herself as an athlete, sports facilitator, and official. Zhen Fang believes that it is possible to play and work hard without unnecessary pain. Her passion lies in holistic health and manual therapy. She finds great satisfaction in being able to release muscle tension to alleviate her client’s pain and improve range of motion. Through her years of practice, she has continuously improved her knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions affecting both sportsmen and office workers.

Outside of work, Zhen Fang enjoys spending time trekking, enjoying nature, sailing, and solving jigsaw puzzles.

Farah holds a BSc in Exercise and Sports Science from Edith Cowan University. As a Sports Trainer, she has worked with the Football Association of Singapore, private physiotherapy clinics and various sports teams to help their athletes perform to the utmost. Being fascinated by how the human body works at a young age, Farah has a thriving interest in helping people reach their health and healing goals. Thus, she believes that everyone from different walks of life can benefit from massage therapy. Using a holistic approach, Farah feels joy in being able to ease the pain of her clients.

Outside work, Farah enjoys playing various sports activities and games with her family & friends. In addition, she loves reading, listening to music, and the breeze of nature.

Chang Huey graduated from the Singapore Institute of Technology – Trinity College of Dublin with a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Distinction) in Physiotherapy. While pursuing his degree, Chang Huey also worked as a Personal Trainer & Sports Massage Therapist here at Heartland Rehab to further hone his skillsets.

Having a sporting background, Chang Huey understands the importance for clients to get back to their sports or lifestyle following an injury. A firm believer in individualised treatment plans and ensuring that his clients understand their condition fully. Chang Huey is passionate about empowering his clients to regain greater autonomy over their symptoms and to live a healthier & more active lifestyle. Committed to providing the best quality care, Chang Huey regularly keeps himself up to date with the latest evidence-based practices to provide optimal outcomes for the clients under his care. Debbie graduated from the Singapore Institute of Technology with Honours in BSc Physiotherapy. She started her career in private practice and was exposed to a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Being an avid rock climber for the last 10 years, Debbie has represented Singapore in both local and international competitions, notably for World University Games in Shanghai (2017) and Bratislava (2019). As an athlete with her fair share of injuries, it led her to develop keen interests in human biomechanics for optimal performance in sport. Debbie strongly believes in a patient centred approach; to combine various manual techniques and exercise therapy to help you achieve your goal.

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys reading and running.

John graduated from Singapore Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. He started his physiotherapy career in a public hospital where he obtained clinical skills and knowledge in the fields of geriatric medicine, post operative orthopedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. John passion lies in empowering patients to take control of their nagging symptoms and injuries. He works closely with his patients to develop a holistic treatment plan that will return them to greater levels of function.

In his spare time, John enjoys a good gym workout and his late night runs. Otherwise, he will be on Netflix watching his 5th rerun of the comedy sitcom Friends.

Humaiera graduated with a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science from Republic Polytechnic. During her internship with a private clinic, she has worked as a sports trainer to help the athletes perform their absolute best in their sports. Additionally, she is experienced in working as a sports massage therapist helping people relieve their muscular pains. As a former Combat Captain and Head of Welfare in Republic Polytechnic’s Silat Team, she was often put in situations that needed her to apply her injury management skills on her teammates. She also helped to programme exercise regimes to allow her teammates to reach their full potential.

Since young, she has participated in various sports events such as netball, cross country runs and other sports which allow her to relate to many of the athletes and their musculoskeletal conditions. Outside of work, Humaiera takes part in daily Silat based activities. She also enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family and friends.
